Mr. &Mrs. Shelmerdine shared their holiday experience in Grand Mirage.

“So thank you to everyone involved in the Grand Mirage for contributing to yet another Holiday to remember!”

Firstly, just to make one thing clear – we stayed here last year and this (September) on All Inclusive Gold, so maybe by paying for the best and staying for a fortnight, we experience the best treatment etc. HOWEVER on speaking with other guests we have NEVER heard anyone say a bad word about anything.

Bearing in mind that we live in Northwich in the UK, and it is a 21 hour journey, the fact that we returned here this year when we normally like to see different parts of the world, says it all.

The General Manager Juan Sanchez is a very nice and approachable man. The Executive Chef Mathew Wood (an Aussie) cannot do enough for you and the food provided is impeccable, varied, and caters for all tastes (and believe me Karen and I are very staid English food eaters, with very very restricted Continental and Far Eastern tastes!)
In the main Restaurant Kasta and his Assistant Suranti are charming and helpful and do a great job looking after every body. Although a few of the Restaurant staff have changed from last year we have still enjoyed a laugh and a joke with all of them, particularly Agung, Mudita, Lailang, Riyani and also Ayu.
We particularly like the Italian Restaurant which provides a more “eating out experience”, with excellent staff including Dina and Billy who look after everybody like royalty. We particularly enjoyed the Veal and the Beef Tenderloin, and Karen loves the pana cotta! Dina speaks and understands English very well and is an absolute credit to the Hotel (Mr Sanchez please take note!)

We like to alternate in the evenings with the Jurka Grill who again offer a wide selection of food cooked excellently and efficiently. Again the Manager and his staff are wonderful.

Last year someone read our review and queried the beach? I have to say that very few people actually swim in the sea or do more than lay out on the beach, but not for any bad reasons – its just that most people use the pool. When the Hotel is at 100% capacity (as it is now because of the Austrian half term) there are still enough sunbeds with shade available, although the ones round the pool are obviously in demand. The Hotel include free beach service and we particularly enjoyed brief conversations with Agung – a beautiful and well mannered young lady and a credit to the Hotel despite still training. She also dances in the regular shows – should be a certainty for a full contract Boss lol.
The rooms (despite some reviews i have read) are maintained to an excellent standard, and I cannot understand anyone with different views. The laundry service is excellent and the one time we used Room Service (first night when we arrived too late in the night for the Restaurants) the food was excellent.

Anyone who would like to query anything feel free to contact me by e-mail (daveshelmerdine@hotmail.com)

So thank you to everyone involved in the Grand Mirage for contributing to yet another Holiday to remember!
